Ty Meier's "Artist Statement Illustrated" is a cornerstone of his work, serving as both a mission statement and a piece of art. The central banner urges viewers to "Refocus on the much larger themes of life: The improbable phenomenon of our existence and the epiphanies of experience." The most resonant line, "We are beautiful creatures surrounded by darkness," encapsulates Ty's belief that we can find joy and happiness despite the sorrow and stress we all endure.

Ty loves to hide symbols and messages throughout his art. One tiny banner is a line from Charles Bukowski, "Find what you love and let it kill you,". It’s intended to be a call to follow a passion intensely. However, it often sparks controversy and compelling conversations at art markets, with some patrons misinterpreting it as an endorsement of destructive behaviors.

The original 11" x 14" pen-and-ink artwork, created on 100% cotton paper, was watercolored to a parchment tone and highlighted with titanium white acrylic paint. It sold almost immediately and now resides in a private collection in Colorado.

This unique 8" x 10" print was meticulously mounted by Ty to a hand-painted wood panel. He then applied texture and brushstrokes with an acrylic medium and lacquered the piece, transforming a print into a one-of-a-kind artwork.
